Last week the MiP events team travelled to Dublin to support Aon with their annual Wealth Insights Series. We are delighted to be working with Aon again on these events, and this year have taken our website and comms support one step further by developing a bespoke webapp which allows clients to book one-to-one meetings with Aon representatives throughout the events. We are now looking forward to the events in London and Miami in November, and the webapp will also be rolled out at Aon’s inaugural Singapore event.
The new event season kicked-off and we are delighted to have worked with Capital Group once again on their Capital Ideas LIVE event yesterday at the Pan Pacific Hotel in London.
Under the topic ‘Inflation vs. Financial Stability’ we had a day of thought-provoking main platform presentations and took a deep dive into investment strategies in the breakout sessions.
It’s fair to say that the creative looked absolutely striking on this beautiful stage.
We are proud to have delivered the 12th Select conference recently. With 60 delegates and 10 fund management groups on site at the Four Seasons Hampshire, we had a fantastic two days of deep-dive content. Feedback has been fabulous with delegates calling it “the highest quality conference I attend”, “brilliantly organised” and “a great use of my time with an excellent selection of presentations”.
Proceedings are now underway at the 2023 abrdn Global Investment Forum. SiP is delighted to be on-site working with the team, having sourced three external speakers for the day. Hosted by journalist and broadcaster Daisy McAndrew, the opening session was a fireside chat with Pulitzer Prize winning historian, Anne Applebaum. The discussion took an in-depth look at several key geopolitical themes, ranging from the Russo-Ukraine war to the next US presidential election, the future of the Eurozone, Taiwan, and even Britain’s new place in our globalized world. We’re also looking forward to the closing keynote session with SiP favourite, Dr Paul Redmond.
This week we travelled to Milan to support BNY Mellon Investment Management with their European Conference.
The event was a great success and welcomed delegates from all over Europe for a day of main platform presentations, in-depth fund manager boardroom presentation and networking drinks in the Italian sun.
We are delighted to support our clients overseas as well.
28 teams participated in a variety of both silly and serious sporting activities and an amazing £26k was raised for NSCPCC.
On Tuesday we returned to the Corinthia Hotel for the BNY Mellon IM UK conference. This year’s theme ‘Transitions: Investing in an ever – changing world’ led to thought provoking main platform discussions followed by insightful presentations from a range of portfolio managers.
And finally, today we are delighted to be onsite with RSMR – who are hosting their ‘Out of the ordinary’ conference in Leeds and we look forward to welcoming the delegates to the event.
We’re now wrapping up at the Global Investment Management Summit, and what an amazing few days we’ve had at London’s iconic Guildhall. As Head of Speaker Liaison at MiP, I’m incredibly proud of both the volume and quality of the external speakers we’ve had with us today and yesterday. Former Prime Ministers from around the world have joined up with famous scientists, high-profile academics, leading economists and bestselling authors. Highlights have included this morning’s big-hitting geopolitical panel with Lord Hague, Alexander Stubb and Sir Richard Shirreff, a keynote address from climate strategist Gabrielle Walker, and an innovation workshop with vaccine creator Catherine Green.
Similarly, it’s been a delight to see our sponsor speakers, including numerous asset manager CEOs, government representatives and partners, working in tandem with our external contributors. Nowhere was this more apparent than the Diversity, Culture and Outlook for Future Generations panel discussion, which featured former Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt, BNY Mellon CEO Hanneke Smits, and Jupiter CEO Matt Beesley.
Great evening at tonight’s gala dinner!
After many months of planning, the Global Investment Management Summit (www.gim-summit.com) has kicked off with address from the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Lord Johnson (Minister for Investment) and the Lord Mayor. A stellar line-up and much more to follow this afternoon and tomorrow. This is a new initiative bringing together 21 fund groups with the Investment Association, Department for Business & Trade and City of London, with Morningstar as Research Partner.
We were delighted to organise the RSMR London event today, which complements the regular series of virtual conferences we also deliver for them. At the end of the day we headed to another client’s offices to transform their internal event space, through the use of clever branding and experiential items, ready for their tech event the next day.
Today we had the pleasure to be on site with Aegon Asset Management. We welcomed the delegates at the Ned in London for a mix of main platform presentations and breakout sessions, finishing a successful conference with a networking lunch. It’s been a wonderful project to work on.
We welcomed 140 delegates to the Langham, along with a host of Premier Miton fund managers across all investment strategies, for a mix of main platform and boardroom sessions. MiP have partnered with Premier Miton for over a decade and have enjoyed seeing them grow to be the powerhouse they are today. Fantastic presentations from Lloyd Harris, Hugh Grieves and many more.
